Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Fire Systems

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer – Fire Systems is responsible for ensuring the reliability, functionality, and compliance of all fire detection, alarm, suppression, and safety systems within the facility. This role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation in accordance with local fire safety regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Inspection:
Conduct regular inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire extinguishers, sprinklers, hydrants, and suppression systems.
Ensure all fire safety equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose faults in fire systems and perform timely repairs.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or replacements.
- Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
Ensure compliance with local fire safety codes, standards (e.g., NFPA, ISO), and company policies.
Assist in fire safety audits and inspections by authorities.
- System Upgrades & Installation:
Support installation, commissioning, and upgrading of fire detection and suppression systems.
Recommend improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Emergency Support:
Respond promptly to fire system alarms or failures.
Support emergency response teams during fire drills or actual incidents
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or related field.
Certification in fire safety systems (preferred).
Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of fire protection systems.
Knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire codes, and safety regulations.
Strong problem-solving and technical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
Facility-based role with occasional work at heights or in confined spaces.
May require shift work, emergency call-outs, or weekend duties.
